King Kylie

These have been selling out on the Kylie Cosmetics website in record time, and as you can imagine this only fuelled my curiosity. I wanted to know if they were worth the hype and I was very lucky and received the highly lusted collection of matte liquid lipsticks in the post.  I literally jumped up and down whilst dancing around to new Drake. It was a great day.



Each kit includes a liquid lipstick and matching lip liner (both full-sized) and they retail for $29, which is a steal for this kind of quality. The liquid lipsticks are packaged in a standard lipgloss container with a twist-off lid and a doe foot applicator. The lip liners have a pop off lid and sharpen easily.

The shades are highly pigmented and look stunning when applied, they last forever showing minimal signs of wear. The type of lipstick that could get you through christmas dinner. I actually had difficulty getting the colour off, and had to try a few different makeup removers to fully remove the product. I found that an oil based makeup remover worked best.

The product is a matte finish so a little dryness is to be expected, but it does not feel uncomfortable on the lips. That being said, the product is not overly drying on the lips, moisturising the lips before hand helps prevent the product from flaking. The liquid lipstick is intensely pigmented, perfect for a bold matte lip. The lip liners are incredibly creamy and work well to define and contour the lip to create shape, giving you an instantly fuller pout.

Dolce K is a light brown nude, the darkest nude in the liquid lipstick collection, compliments all skin tones. Posie K is a beautiful plum pink again compliments all skin tones and is the perfect pop of colour. Koko K, the fastest sellout, is a light pink nude, stunning on the lips with a feline flick and lashings of mascara. Koko K can be difficult to wear on darker skin tones, but I've found that lining the lips with a liner that is a closer shade to your natural lips works better.

Kourt K and Mary Jo K are my personal favourite darker shades, however they do apply streaky. I would advise lining your whole lip to give the liquid lipstick something to adhere to, increasing the longevity of the product, as well as applying an additional coat or two of the liquid lipstick to give you an even finish.
