The Luxury Look For Less

I've spent the last few years building a wardrobe I love. Especially when it comes to accessories and more recently shoes. And whilst they may cost a little more than your average high street price, you can still create a premium looking wardrobe without completely breaking the bank.

Invest in luxuries. Okay, obvious I know but having one luxury piece in your outfit is a really easy way to dress it up. Even without including a premium piece, making an item the focus of an outfit is an easy way of making a statement. Choose something you love, that reflects your own style and build your outfit around that. Honestly, your outfit will look so much better if you are comfortable in it. Let your personality shine through, try to avoid incorporating every seasonal trend into your outfit, trends come and go but your style is something that will evolve as you grow as a person.

Waiting until the retail sales come around to invest is a great idea. Shop around, look at different websites to compare competitive prices. Online retailers such as Net A Porter, Selfridges, LuisaViaRoma and MyTheresa stock a wide variety of premium brands. Keep an eye on each website until you can grab a great deal.

Little luxuries. Investing in luxury pieces is not only limited to shoes and handbags. Investing in anything is a big decision, so if you are new to the world of luxury and premium brands starting off with something small is always a good idea. Sunglasses are always a good bet, something statement or understated the choice is yours. Choose something that is suitable for your style and that will compliment a variety of outfits and looks.

Don't underestimate your shoe choice. It took me a while to realise it, but the shoes you wear can make a big difference to your outfit. You could be wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a plain tee but a pair of killer heels will instantly dress up your outfit, making you look effortlessly chic. Your old beaten up Nike trainers, not so much.

I personally feel that having one key piece in your wardrobe, whether thats a pair of killer heels, a designer handbag or even some statement sunglasses can really enhance your outfit. No one *needs* to look expensive, but a little luxury never hurt anybody.
